I was digging up the old files and I found this ad which I added the graphics to. The track is a little bit deceiving, HA! At office in that time there was not any decent tracker and the After didn’t worked out.

Lately there haven’t been much movement around. This is a bumper, but, is my version, because the client modified the final one a little bit to make sure I used the closure they already had, a detail I didn’t like at the end. The piece is not my favorite, but, it works.

What is compositing? Some people have asked me. It’s pretty simple to explain to the designers, imagine a picture digitally retouched, but in video, that’s it. For the rest, compositing, is a video or film footage modified with other videos or cinema footage in such way the final result is a new video. Is a little flexible the definition, and as a sample, two ads in which I participate, but I didn’t made all the compositing.

Este es un comercial para 7up, donde la idea es que el monito tiene calor y bebe un 7up mojito, pero la chica que aparece lo hace sonrojarse y bebe de nuevo el 7up para enfriarse. Aquí yo hice el empañado en ambas ocasiones y la mano que pasa para limpiarlo.

This is a tv ad for 7up, where the idea is the guy is feeling heat and drinks a 7up Mojito, and then the girl who appears makes him blush then he drinks again the 7up to chill. Here I made the steam in the screen and the hand cleaning it up.

Este segundo es una secuencia sin cortes de un viaje a través de un avión nuevo de Interjet. Este comercial tuvo una serie de dificultades técnicas, pues hubo mucho rotoscopio que hacer. Rotoscopio es recortar un video cuadro a cuadro. Mi participación aquí fue de rotoscopio, de estabilización de imagen y de arreglarle un diente a la señora de rosa.

This second one is a sequence without cutting of a travel across a new Intejet plane. This tv ad had a series of technical difficulties, because we had to rotoscope a lot. Rotoscope is cutting out a footage frame by frame. My participation in this one was doing a lot of rotoscope, stabilizing image and fixing a tooth from the lady in pink.

He regresado luego de una aventura en las inmediaciones de la nebulosa. Como estoy de buenas, voy a subir otra animación que también me gustó mucho cómo me quedó al final. El cliente era Italika, y la idea era explicar cómo es que las motocicletas son una buena opción para una ciudad como esta… y vaya que lo son, lástima que los condutores sigan siendo los mismos. ¬¬

I’ve came back after an adventure in the surroundings of a nebula. As I’m in a great mood, I’m going to upload another animation which I liked it quite much how it looks at the end. The client, Italika, and the idea was to show how motorcycles are a great option for transportation for a city like this… and sure they are, pity the drivers still the same. ¬¬

This weekend I was reading a México Desconocido magazine I bought and it turns out there was a couple of details about Coyoacán I didn’t know, and so after a brief insistence with Ferri, we went to Coyoacán to explore the unknown places by me. Here are some of the discoveries.

Probablemente este es el mayor descubrimiento que hice, a pesar de estar contaminado como casi todo en la ciudad, es grato encontrarse un puente antiguo sobre un río.

Probably this is the greatest discovery I made, despite being polluted as almost everything in the city, is nice finding an ancient bridge over a river.

También me encontré con algunos detalles interesantes como esta puerta. // I also found some interesting details like this wooden door.

Leyendo la revista, supe que había un montón de edificios viejos, como esta capilla que daba la bienvenida coyoacanosa a los viajeros hace más de doscientos años.

Reading this very same magazine, I knew there was a bunch of ancient buildings, like this chapel which used to welcome to Coyoacan to the travelers over two hundred years ago.

Finalmente, me enteré que el asentamiento original del Coyoacán prehispánico estaba algunos metros al sureste del actual centro de Coyoacán. Por eso, es muy bueno leer.

Finally, I knew the original settlement of the prehispanic Coyoacán was several meters to the southeast of the actual Coyoacán main square. That’s why is good to read./span>

This is the first illustration I’ve ever made printable in a 80 x 40 cm. A vision of an imaginary city in my stories. I made it in my free time at work, lately quite enough time. The idea was to create an oil painting and I believe the result is quite cool. I used the colors from several photos so it would increase the awesomeness and in theory the gamut is corrected so you can print it easily. People who wishes print it, is available at DeviantArt.
