Coyoacán

Este fin de semana estaba leyendo una revista que me compré de México Desconocido y resulta que había un par de detalles sobre Coyoacán que no conocía, por lo que luego de una breve insistencia con Ferri, fuimos a darnos el rol por aquellos lares no conocidos por mí. He aquí algunos descubrimientos.

This weekend I was reading a México Desconocido magazine I bought and it turns out there was a couple of details about Coyoacán I didn’t know, and so after a brief insistence with Ferri, we went to Coyoacán to explore the unknown places by me. Here are some of the discoveries.

Probablemente este es el mayor descubrimiento que hice, a pesar de estar contaminado como casi todo en la ciudad, es grato encontrarse un puente antiguo sobre un río.

Probably this is the greatest discovery I made, despite being polluted as almost everything in the city, is nice finding an ancient bridge over a river.

También me encontré con algunos detalles interesantes como esta puerta. // I also found some interesting details like this wooden door.

Leyendo la revista, supe que había un montón de edificios viejos, como esta capilla que daba la bienvenida coyoacanosa a los viajeros hace más de doscientos años.

Reading this very same magazine, I knew there was a bunch of ancient buildings, like this chapel which used to welcome to Coyoacan to the travelers over two hundred years ago.

Finalmente, me enteré que el asentamiento original del Coyoacán prehispánico estaba algunos metros al sureste del actual centro de Coyoacán. Por eso, es muy bueno leer.

Finally, I knew the original settlement of the prehispanic Coyoacán was several meters to the southeast of the actual Coyoacán main square. That’s why is good to read./span>

Y más lluvia

Y como seguimos con esto de las bien hartas lluvias, unas fotitos de lluvia, pues incluso pusimos una lona para poder entrar a la casa sin mojarnos tanto porque nos tardamos un poquito en eso de que las llaves, etc, etc. // And as we still in this rainy days, some more pics of rain, since we have even installed an awning so we can enter home without being complete wet cause we take our time looking for the keys and so…

Charrería

La segunda foto más vista en mi flickr, un “paso de la muerte”, pero el de a caballo, je… La usaron en un coso de la SEP+CONADE pero le dieron la vuelta de espejo. El diseño no es mío, sino de Brenda López Espinoza, o al menos, ella es la que me pidió usar la foto. // The second most viewed photo in my flickr account, the “death step”, but the one on the horse, hee… It was used in a SEP+CONADE print material, but it was flipped. The design is not mine actually, is from Brenda López Espinoza, or at least she was the one who asked permission to use the pic.

Domingo de rata

Ayer por la noche, estábamos tranquilamente mirando el televisor cuando el Poyuki, alias Yoko, ladró ante un ruido repentino y molesto. Pensamos que algo se había caído, pero… jamás hubiéramos imaginado que sería una noche de paranoia hasta que la jaula en cuestión atrapó a una nunca bienvenida rata que se había escabullido por alguna entrada pequeña… gracias al Puy que con sus poderes de perro se dio cuenta cuando el asqueroso animal entró. // Yesterday night, we were watching tv so relaxed when Poyuki, aka Yoko, barked when a sudden and disturbing noise happened. We thought something felt, but… we would never imagined the night would be full of paranoia until the tramp below caught a never welcomed rat whose had managed to get in through a quite narrow entrance… thanks to Puy who with his doggy powers noticed the exact moment when that naughty animal entered.
